Who We Are

Prakriti Resources Centre (PRC) is a non-government organization furthering the notion of sustainable development and environmental integrity. PRC focuses on areas of climate change, low carbon development and food security & sustainable livelihood. Nepal being one of the most vulnerable countries to climate change, adapting to its impacts is imperative. Similarly, it also needs to embrace the low carbon development model for sustainability.

PRC prioritizes research and policy dialogues as a way of working. It engages with diverse stakeholders such as government institutions, NGOs, academia and private sectors and partners with other like-minded organizations to further its vision and areas of work.

Established in 2015, PRC is registered with the Government of Nepal under Associations Registration Act, 1977. It has affiliation with District Administration Office, Kathmandu and Social Welfare Council (SWC).

In its work PRC

  • Conducts research and studies to generate empirical evidences that is documented and shared widely.
  • Promotes and advocates for people centered and environmental friendly policies in a participatory and inclusive manner.
  • Engages with multi-stakeholders like government, NGOs and private sectors to further the idea of sustainable development and environmental integrity.
  • Builds knowledge base and shares information using various tools like dialogues, discussions, publications, media and face-to-face interactions.
  • Helps raise awareness on environmental issues, climate change and sustainable development through information exchange and experience sharing.
  • Collaborates with other like-minded organizations and networks for effective and meaningful impacts.
